LOST AND FOUND
An incident years ago helped me understand why people may not realize they are lost. It was during the Christmas crush at a large shopping mall. Somehow our four year old son had become separated from us. My wife and I looked at each other with that “I-thought-you- were-watching-him” look. That quickly changed to panic when we considered the masses of people crowding the mall. We started retracing our steps. Our little boy was nowhere to be found. Minutes passed. We showed pictures to security guards and storekeepers. Nothing! Our hearts pounded within us. Nearly a half hour went by. We began to fear the worst. Then came an announcement over the public address system, “Will Mr. and Mrs. Johnson please come to the manager’s office at Prange’s? Your little boy is here.” We ran through the mall, up the escalator three stairs at a time and into the manager’s office. Our son was there sipping a soft drink the manager…
