THE CHURCH AS FEEDING PLACE
Many times when it comes to the ministry of the church, we think that if we open the doors, everyone will flock in. Recently, my son and his grandad made a birdfeeder together, a beautiful red structure which would entice any bird from a fifty miles radius, or so we thought. We put up the birdfeeder, filled it with attractive seed. No birds came. We then put suet out and tied it to the feeder as an added attraction. Still no birds came. Then we scattered seed all over the ground. Still no birds were seen. Meanwhile, elderly friends across town were bragging about all the blue jays, goldfinches, cardinals and sparrows that were flocking to their feeder every day. At the same time, the weather has been mild and the birds have not been happening. The birds went to the place where they had received food over a long period of time.
