COOKED FROG
Two cub scouts got bored on their overnight camping trip, so they decided to cook a frog. They put a pot of water on the fire and brought it to a boil. Then they spotted a chubby frog nearby and quickly tossed it into the pot. Just a quickly, he jumped out. They threw him back in, and again he jumped out. Then these scouts came up with a plan that worked: They emptied the hot water from the pot, replaced it with cool creek water, and added the frog. This time the frog stayed there — in fact, a little smile broke out on his face. They placed the saucepan over the flame and, as the water heated slowly, beads of sweat began popping out on the frog’s brow. Still he sat there contentedly.
