CHINESE COMMUNISM
An internal circular (dated March 31, 1982) was sent out by the central committee of the Chinese Communist Party stating its policy regarding all religions in China. Listed below are the main points of this circular. While we watch communism crumble in other parts of the world, we should be reminded that China is trying desperately to maintain its Marxist ideology. Let’s pray for another “successful” failure. 1. Atheistic Marxism is the ideological foundation of CCP religious policy. 2. Religion will ultimately disappear, but freedom of religious belief is to be tolerated within strict limits. 3. The Party controls religious affairs as part of its United Front policy. 4. The organs to implement Party policy are the patriotic religious organizations. 5. Only places of worship and religious personnel supervised by these organizations are tolerated. Independent religious activity is largely prohibited. 6.
