LOSS OF TRUTH
The issue of truth-telling is a two-sided problem. Not many people want to tell the truth when it’s painful, and not a lot of people want to hear the truth if it’s painful. . . No one wins in such a world. At first it is thought that people are simply protecting each other, watching out for each other’s feelings. But no one grows where truth is absent. No one is pushed to be and to do the best. And when you look at this deficit from a Christian perspective, it describes a situation where men and women are never going to become all that God has made them to be nor will they gather the spiritual energy or passion to make it happen. From Restoring Your Spiritual Passion, by Gordon MacDonald, published by Oliver-Nelson Books
