SNATCHED FROM DEATH
Gregory Robertson, a safety and training adviser for the U.S. Parachute Association and a veteran of 1,500 jumps, followed Debbie Williams and five other divers out of a plane two miles over Coolidge, Ariz. He watched as the group tried to link hands at 9,000 feet. Suddenly, Williams collided with another skydiver, knocking herself unconscious. Robertson tucked his arms to his sides and, using his shoulders to steer, plummeted at 200 mph. His bullet maneuver allowed him to catch up with Debbie, who was spiraling downward on her back. Placing her in a sitting position, Robertson yanked her rip cord at 2,700 feet. He opened his own chute at 2,000 feet—ten seconds before he would have slammed into the ground. Gregory Robertson risked his own life to snatch Debbie Williams from the threshold of death. As Christians, Christ has charged us with the responsibility to snatch others from the threshold of spiritual death. From Preacher’s Magazine
