THE MIGHTY SEED
In Hamburg, Germany, some years ago, there was a woman who became an ardent disciple of Dr. Strauss, a theologian who denied the fact of the resurrection of Christ. She gave instructions that her grave be covered with heavy stones, cemented together in a solid, thick mass. This was done, but a small seed was enclosed in a crevice of one of the great stones. From the seed grew a tree, which broke the masonry to bits. Today, a great tree spreads its branches over the grave, a symbol of the triumph of life over death. From Clergy Talk, March, 1978
