RISEN INDEED!
Many years ago in Russia, during the time of Lent and Easter, Christians used a greeting other than “How are you?” and “I am fine.” Upon meeting, they would say: “CHRIST IS RISEN!” The other person would respond: “CHRIST HAS RISEN INDEED!” After the communists took over, a lot of things changed. There was persecution of many kinds. With the Communist takeover the open “Easter Sunrise Services” were replaced with “Sunrise Communist Rallies.” All people of the community were requested to be present. As one particular Sunrise Communist Rally was drawing to a close, the leader got up and asked if there was anything anyone wanted to say. There was silence. No one from the 10,000 people in the audience came forward. Finally a teenaged boy made his way forward. He worked his way to the raised platform.
