HOW IS YOUR ATTITUDE INDICATOR?
Our son Tom, who is an aviation technology student at LeTourneau University, tells me that airplanes fly with the use of an “Attitude Indicator”. In the flying of an airplane, the attitude is “the position of the airplane, in relation to the horizon”. For example, when the airplane is climbing, it has a “high nose” attitude because the nose of the airplane is pointed above the horizon. Therefore, pilots are concerned about the attitude of the airplane because it dictates its performance. If you keep the nose of the plane in a “nose down position”, you will crash. To fly, you must keep the plane in a “nose high position”. Sometimes it is necessary to change the attitude in order to change the performance. The apostle Paul, while writing to the church at Philippi, placed before those believers an “Attitude Indicator”. “Have this attitude [mind] in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5 (All Scripture NASB) As…
