CATCH THE VISION
Our new pastor was preaching a sermon on the importance of having a vision for the Lord’s work. He was about to emphasize a point in his message. He lifted his hand, brought it down hard, and hit the corner of his eyeglasses. They flew through the air (the pastor shouted “Mercy!”) and came to the fourth row of pews. One of our members reached out, caught the eyeglasses. The member returned the eyeglasses without a break or single smudge. The congregation broke out in laughter. What a way to emphasize a sermon on vision. From A Funny Thing Happened…, January, 1991, by Betty Head, Eastside Baptist Church, Batesburg, South Carolina.
