DADS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
A woman’s capacity for intimacy – and thus her potential for successful male relationships – is directly linked to her relationship with her father. A study of 7,000 women who worked in strip joints or topless bars revealed that most of the women came from absent-father homes. The researcher commented, “Most of these women conceded that they were probably looking for the male attention that they had never gotten during their childhood. Lacking that foundation, many of these women also admitted that they did not rely on men for intimacy.” From The Dad Difference, by Josh McDowell and Norm Wakefiend pg. 61, published by Here’s Life and also quoting Christopher P. Anderson, Father: The Figure and the Force, published by Warner Books, New York, 1983
