DAD IS DONE
During a Bible Study unit on the family, our 3rd-grade class members prepared a cake in our church’s microwave oven. Each child took part in mixing, baking, and icing the cake. The other teacher and I were the “mother” and “father” respectively. When we finished, the “mother” placed the baking utensils and bowls in a paper bag. One of the boys in our class spoke up: “Dad, you can go now and read the paper.” From “A Funny Thing Happened…,” May, 1990, by Darla Thomas, Northwood Baptist Church, West Palm Beach, Florida
