BRIGHTEN THE CORNER
Sir Edward Burns-Jones, the English artist, went to his daughter’s home for lunch. During the meal, his little grandchild did not behave nicely at the table. Her mother sent her to stand in the corner. The next day, the famous painter came to the home again, this time with his paint box and brushes. Sir Edward then painted pictures on the walls where the grand-daughter stood. There was a kitten chasing his tail, lambs in the fields, goldfish swimming in a bowl. If the grand-daughter had to stand in the corner again, she would at least have something pretty to look at! There are too many dull corners in the world. Dark corners of disappointment, discouragement, unhappiness, sorrow, bitterness, poverty, heartbreak and failure.
