HELD RESPONSIBLE
A young couple attending our church wanted to have children, but there were physical obstacles and they finally resorted to the help of medical specialists. When Janie did get pregnant, it was discovered that they would be expecting triplets if all went well. The doctor had indicated that Janie may have to “stay in bed” the final three months to carry them to full term. Meeting Janie’s husband at the cafe one day, I congratulated him and finished our chat with, “We’ll be praying for you two in these next months.” Jim’s response caught me a little off-guard, “Good!” he said. “And we are going to hold all of those who have said they will pray for us responsible!” Although there was a hint of jest in his statement, it was a challenge to me.
