Roger Sonnenberg has written a delightful account concerning his son Jacob…Roger’s son Jacob was taken by his parents to the county fair. While there, he was allowed to ride the “choo- choo train.” His first ride was great. Jacob was alone, strapped in one of the open-air passenger cars. With each circle he would put on a radiant smile and wave, almost like he was in the movies, obediently following the director’s cues. His parents allowed him to take a second ride. This time there were two other children who were strapped alongside him. One of the children was not enjoying the ride.Jacob did not wave to his parents the first time around as he had before. He only looked at the crying boy. His parents were afraid that the next time around he would begin crying, himself. But the third time around, his actions brought tears to his parents’ eyes.
