CHRISTMAS RECITATION
Tonight is the night we hear the story
Of how God came to earth in all his glory.
This is the story we all hold so dear
For it is the Good News that Christ is here!
The story begins with a census to make
That all the townspeople had to go and take.
Joseph took Mary, to Bethlehem they went
Only to find that there were no rooms to rent.
Mary, with child, on this night came due;
She would give birth soon, this she surely knew.
So in a small stable, which was quite forlorn,
Jesus, our Savior, the Son of God was born.
Out in the fields some shepherds did hear
A heavenly message which filled them with fear.
They heard the Good News as the angels did sing,
“Glory to God! He has sent us the King!”
