SCARED IS NOT ENOUGH
In Newsweek, (March issue, 1962), there was an account of Jerry Davis, then 11 years old, and in the hospital. He was being treated for serious burns. When their house had caught fire, Jerry had twice entered into, and run through the flames and saved his two youngest brothers. When reporters visited Jerry in the hospital, they asked him, “Jerry, weren’t you afraid when you went into the burning house?” “Yes, I was awfully afraid.” “Then, how were you able to do it?” “Well, I didn’t want to lose my littlest brother just because I was ‘a scared.'” We should not allow the fear to stop us from losing our place with Christ – just because we are “a scared.”
