WE’VE SEEN HIS SUFFERING
Have YOU ever seen the nail prints in Jesus hands and feet and the wound in His side? Have you ever seen the scars of the whip or the cruel crown of thorns? I have. I’ve seen the wounds of Christ. I’ve seen the nail marks that pierce the lives of all the people and families who suffer from leprosy and AIDS. I’ve seen the marks that pierce the lives of those who are dying of cancer. I’ve seen the nail marks in the distended stomachs of those who are starving and in the vacant, hopeless eyes of the homeless. I’ve seen the wounded side of Christ in the lives of all who suffer oppression because they are different. I’ve seen the wounded side of Christ in the struggles in Afghanistan, in South Africa, in South America and on both sides of the disputed land in Israel.
