William Randolph Hearst started to build his Hearst Castle on his ranchland overlooking the village of San Simeon in 1919. He called the estate “La Cuesta Encantada” – – Spanish for The Enchanted Hill. By 1947, the hilltop complex included a twin-towered main building, three sumptuous guesthouses, and 127 acres of terraced gardens, fountains, and pools. After visiting Hearst Castle, the famed Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw said, “It’s what God would have built if he had the money.”
God may not have money, but He has an overabundance of Bread. God may not have money, but He has given us the Bread of Life.
Sometimes, Jesus is called “The Second Moses.” The basis for this is that while the first law came from God through Moses, the more perfect law is given to us by Jesus. Whatever truth there may be in the title “The Second Moses,” it is also very misleading.
