PREMARITAL PRIORITIES
On a premarital survey form that I have all marital candidates complete, I have included a particular question which asks each individual to list a number of priorities in the order of perceived importance. There are things listed such as vocation, spouse, children, sports, friends, family, education, church, leisure, self, etc. There is something intentionally missing from the list. The ones who include this missing priority on the list don’t even notice that it was not included, and the ones who fail to include it in the list are almost always apologetic about missing it. I do not include GOD in the list. Some equate that particular priority with the church. Some just miss it. The impact is always powerful. In the busyness of juggling our priorities, God is easily left off of our “list of priorities.” And when that happens, all of our priorities are out of order.
