GOOD NEWS ABOUT SOMEONE
In the October 7 issue of U.S News & World Report, there is a fascinating article on the “Dead Sea Scrolls.” Since 1947, these scrolls have been jealously guarded by a few privileged scholars in Jerusalem. Now they are relaxing matters a bit, and the scholastic world is waiting anxiously to get their hands on pictures of the scrolls if not the real things. As the author of the article spoke of the scrolls found in the caves at Qumran, he said there were some unnamed manuscripts and fragments. One fragment that is most intriguing is part of a writing dated several decades before the New Testament. And yet this unknown writer said: “…and by his name shall he be hailed as the Son of God, and they shall call him Son of the Most High.” “It is not clear who is speaking or being spoken to in the text,” says the author Jeffery L.
