AFFAIR WITH TOUPEE
On the Phil Donahue Show on January 13, 1992 a number of the reporters and anchor persons from the twenty years of the Today Show were being interviewed by Phil Donahue. Brian Gumble commented on his reconciliation with Willard Scott. He said they now had an excellent relationship. In fact, one of the staff found Willard’s toupee in Brian’s dressing room and accused them of having an affair. Willard Scott jumped up in surprise and exclaimed, “You’re having an affair with my toupee!?!”
