CHECKING VITAL SIGNS
When my oldest daughter Med had open heart surgery, we were allowed to visit her in Cardiac Surgery Recovery just minutes after her surgery. Her mother and stepmother looked her over carefully and tried to ask her how she felt. After seeing a very pale young lady attached to a room full of blinking, beeping machines they panicked. Being a semi-medical person (an Emergency Medical Technician) I, instead, carefully looked over the many monitors attached to her and then went over her chart with the nurse assigned to care for her. While the others cried, I breathed a sigh of relief knowing she was doing well. I have discovered that how one looks can be deceiving. One might look good and be in terrible shape, physically, emotionally or spiritually. On the other hand, the reverse may be true.
