SPACE DOG
A stray dog with its head stuck in a fish bowl wandered around Yakima, Washington for three days, looking like a primitive astronaut. Finally, on Friday, Dec. 20, 1991, some employees of a car dealership caught the 2-year-old mixed breed pooch and pulled off the bowl. “He did look like a space cadet running around out there.” said animal control officer Marjorie Garrett. “But can you imagine starving to death because of that bowl and not even being able to get a drink?” The plight of people without Christ isn’t much different than the condition of that poor canine. We may be able to see what we need in order to be spiritually satisfied, but without help from the One who sets the captives free, we’re doomed for sure. From Associated Press, in The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Columbus, Georgia, Dec. 22, 1991, p. A2
