A DIARY’S WITNESS
Two hundred years ago, a diary was found floating on the open sea. On one of the pages the sailor had written: “If you should hear that our ship has been sunk and there are no survivors, do not cry. The sea in which my body sinks is only a puddle in the hollow of my Savior’s hand. Nothing can snatch me from that hand.” If you’re defeated by fear, if you’re cowering in the corners of your life, if you are an emotional paralytic, then you don’t have to be afraid anymore. You can be set free to seize the opportunity to build new relationships and discover and follow God’s purpose for your life. The resurrection has overcome even the worst that can happen. Not even death can harm us now. From Preaching, March- April 1990, pg. 48
