PARABLE OF THE CEO AND THE VP’S
Matthew 25:14-30 (The Parable of the Talents) The kingdom of God is like the demanding, self-made CEO who was about to go to Hong Kong to build a new factory. Before leaving he called in his three top VP’s and asked them to manage eight million dollars from the company retirement plan. To the VP in charge of product development, whose division was having a wonderful year, he gave five million dollars. To the VP in charge of marketing, whose division was having a good year, he gave two million dollars. To the VP in charge of budget management, whose division was having a safe an sane normal year, he gave one million dollars. And then the CEO hopped on the corporate jet and was gone. The first VP bought several small companies with promising, innovative technologies. A few of them yielded nothing profitable, but two were real winners.
