READY TO GO
The small community in Texas where I pastored had a fine custom of having a community Thanksgiving worship service. The year our church hosted this worship event, the spirit of fellowship and worship was strong. The Lord was honored and we all sensed it. As I was concluding the services, I remarked, “I have had such a good time in the Lord, I don’t believe I’m ready to go home yet.” My three-year-old daughter responded loud enough for all to hear, “Boy, I am.” The laughter that followed was a good close to a wonderful experience with the Lord. We went home happy from worship and mirth. From A Funny Thing Happened…, December, 1990, by Paul Hampton, Southside Baptist Church, Princeton, Kentucky
