THERE MUST BE A GOOD REASON
At the time George Washington became President in 1789, there was also a king of France, a Holy Roman emperor who ruled much of Europe, a Czarina in Russia, a Shogun ruling Japan, and an emperor of China. Of all those powerful offices, only the United States presidency is still in existence. It behooves us as a nation to note the difference that set us apart as a nation – allowing freedom and preserving this liberty for all.
