THE BIG PICTURE
There are times when it helps to see the task in its entirety. This may serve as an incentive or as a reward. This appears to be the case for a woman who once asked a butcher if she could look at a 25 pound turkey. “I don’t think we have one that big on hand right now,” he replied. “I would be able to order one for you however.” “Oh no, that won’t be necessary.” the woman said, “I don’t want to buy it. I’ve been on a diet and I’ve lost 25 pounds. I just wanted to see how much that looked like in one piece.” Adapted from Reader’s Digest, August, 1991, pg. 10
