IN YOUR FACE, THEOLOGIANS
October 28, 1992 – My twelve year old son Ryan walks out and gets the newspaper. I am sitting in the other room, but I can hear him leafing through the paper, quietly reading aloud. He reads a column and then adds his own summary and editorial: “These theologians predicted the return of Christ last night at midnight… HA HA HA – IN YOUR FACE.” That is not perhaps the most gracious response to theological error, but it is a warning from the mouth of a child to be careful with the way we handle truth.
