PARTLY SORRY FOR SINS
I was driving down the road listening to a radio talk program and the host had become very sacrilegious in his clowning around about something. He facetiously said he needed to ask God for forgiveness. He asked the listening audience, “Does anyone out there remember the “Act of Contrition”. A few minutes later a woman called in saying she remembered something like “I am heartily sorry for my sins…”. But then she added, “But when I was a girl we learned to say it another way, ‘I am partly sorry for my sins.'” Isn’t this the way of man? Isn’t this why more don’t come to God – They are only half-concerned with their sin.
