FIND THE CRACKS
The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is in Fort Worth, Texas. The centerpiece of the campus is an area called “the rotunda” which is covered by a dome top. The front of the rotunda underwent refurbishing in the spring of 1992. While the workmen were up there repairing the front, they discovered cracks in the top of the dome. They could see that this would eventually worsen and be a significant problem. Plans were made to repair the cracks. But they would not have known the cracks were there if they had not been up there where they could see the problem. Confession is about examining our lives from the top, from God’s perspective. Then we can see our lives the way God sees them and call our sins what He calls them. Then we can experience forgiveness and restoration.
