HEALTHY SELF-IMAGE DEFINED
A healthy self-image is “seeing yourself as God sees you – no more and no less.” In other words, a healthy self-image means having a realistic view of ourselves from God’s perspective, as we are portrayed in His Word. I add the phrase “no more and no less” because some people have an inflated view of themselves (pride), while others have a self-deprecating view of themselves (false humility). Sometimes this is a result of pride and other times a result of the lack of knowledge. From Building Your Self- Image, by Josh McDowell, published by Living Books, Tyndale House, Wheaton, Illinois, 1984, page 38 Editor’s Note: This book works well for study groups!!!
