SMALL EVIDENCES ARE VITAL
Never be discouraged that your Christian witness isn’t making the immediate impact you’d like to see. Consider the lesson we may learn from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory at Fort Gillem in Forest Park, Georgia, one of the largest of three such Army crime labs in the world. “Our people find so many things with such a small amount of evidence,” said the lab’s commander, Lt. Col. Lawrence Sagan, “It’s amazing.” Researchers there gather convincing evidence from lip prints on a cigarette butts, saliva stains on clothes, grains of sand, traces of fibers, ear prints on window glass, residues from explosives, tire prints on victim’s bodies, fuzzy photographs, garbled audio tapes, and the like. David Flohr, who works in the lab says, “Every contact leaves a trace.” If that is true in the physical world, how much more can it be said for our Christian evangelistic efforts! No thoughtful comment or kind deed for Christ’s sake is ever wasted.…
