CLOTHES ENCOUNTER
Just when you thought it was safe to get dressed in the morning… a report reveals 120,000 Americans suffered clothing-related injuries in 1990. According to the consumer Product Safety Commission, one woman dislocated her shoulder while putting on a T-shirt. Slipping into a nightie caused another to fall and break her nose. Others pulled off socks and hit themselves in the eye. A man driving a snowmobile got his finger stuck in the coat pocket of a passing pedestrian. And one woman caught her sweater on her earring and pulled it right through her earlobe. Still others strained their backs while putting on socks. Gives new meaning to the phrase “fashion victims.” From FIRST, August 17 1992
