TRUE TALE
Fred Craddock, while delivering the Lyman Beecher Lecture series on preaching at Yale University, related this story from his personal life: A few years ago my wife and I were on vacation in Eastern Tennessee in the Smokey Mountains and we had gone to a place called the Black Bear Inn, a restaurant; we liked it there. One side of the building was all glass. You could look out over the mountains in the evening and have your dinner, just beautiful. The waitress had brought the menu. We were looking over this huge menu, crawling through the French and trying to get to the hamburgers. An old man, he looked to be in his eighties, shock of white hair.
