MENTAL ATTITUDE — OPTIMISM I
‘m always fascinated by stories of people who have managed to develop a different mental attitude than that commonly held by men and women around them. The poor person who refuses to think poor, the sick person who focuses on what they can do rather than their handicap. The kind of syndrome that is suggested by the old story of the boy who was given a gift of a room full of fertilizer and deducted from that there must be a gift of a pony somewhere close. From time to time, I’ll share some good ones along this line. One I liked in particular was the selling philosophy of Judge Ziglar, Zig’s brother. His attitude towards a selling situation is to approach the prospect’s home with the attitude, “He’s got my money in his office, and I’ve got his product in my car, and my job is to help effect an exchange, to set the imbalance right.”
