LEADERSHIP
opportunities can be taken away, as Shebna learns in Isaiah 22. In the August issue of Bits and Pieces we read these ten characteristics of a good leader: Persistence. Not insistence. A strong leader hangs on a little longer, works a little harder. Imagination. He or she harnesses imagination to practical plans that produce results. Vision. The present is just the beginning. He is impressed with the possibilities of the future. Sincerity. He can be trusted. Integrity. He has principles and lives by them. Poise. He isn’t overbearing, but is friendly, assured. Thoughtfulness. He is considerate, aware. Common sense. Good judgment based on reason. Altruism. He lives by the Golden Rule. Initiative. He or she gets things started — now!
