PREACHING THAT IS FAITHFUL, GOOD, CURRENT, INTERESTING, AND BIBLICA
L. Theology, News and Notes is the quarterly journal of the Alumni Association of Fuller Theological Seminary. It is an outstanding publication that deals in each issue with some pertinent theme of interest to the theological community. The June, 1980 issue was on preaching, and contained articles by such luminaries as Earl Palmer, Ray Stedman, James Danne, and Ian Pitt-Watson. This issues great editor was J. Daniel Bauman, pastor of Whittier (California) Area Baptist Fellowship. In Bauman’s editorial he speaks of the hallmarks of good and faithful preaching: It is Biblical. There is an incredible hunger for the things of God in our day. Only a clear proclamation of biblical truth can assuage that need. Many a preacher has discovered that when he taught the Word with exegetical accuracy and expository excellence he was applauded for his creativity and originality.
