FOOT IN MOUTH DISEASE
Our readers often send in items which tell about their experience in putting their foot in their mouth. Scott Widmer, Methodist pastor from Morgantown, Pennsylvania, sends in the following true foot/mouth incident: It was more embarrassing than hilarious at the time. I was using John Wesley’s Covenant Renewal Service on New Year’s Eve; one line of which goes: “Let us bind ourselves with willing bonds to our covenant God.” The way it came out was: “Let us bind ourselves with willing blonds.” 19543
