The “Star Kist” tuna fish company has been running a TV commercial for eighteen years featuring “Charlie,” the deep-sea tuna. Charlie is a delightful, neurotic tuna. He is very unsure of his identity. He is aware that somewhere on the west coast of the United States there is a large company called “Star Kist” that looks only for the best tuna. And he is worried about the fact that they’ve never caught him. That creates a problem for Charlie. “I’m a good fish. I am a tuna, you know. So why is it that Star Kist hasn’t come looking for me?” Charlie jumps to an interesting conclusion. He begins to assume that he’s not cultured enough. So he says to Himself, “I’ll have to be a Renaissance fish. I’ll have to learn to do a lot of different things well and then I’ll get the attention of Star Kist. Then they’ll come looking for me.” So he learns to play a violin. He starts drinking…
