THROUGH THE VALLEY TOGETHER
Our Youth Director, Craig Sanders, shared this story from Through the Valley of the Quai, recently. It is the story from the book on which the movie “The Bridge on the River Quai” was based. It’s about that prison camp and the experience of the men in that prison camp, an experience that points out the meaning of that phrase, “the heart of a servant.” The Irish Republican Army has a system like our ‘Buddy System,’ a system where you look out for someone else; in fact, you give your life for someone else if they’re in trouble — it’s called ‘The Mucker System.’ You ‘Muck’ someone else, and that means that you are related to that person in every way and that person is more important than you are physically, socially, spiritually, everything.
