LEVELS OF MEANING
A missionary acquaintance of mine was working in Indochina shortly before the fall of Dien Bien Phu. He was taken captive by a band of Communist guerillas and held for several weeks. During this period he became very friendly with their young officer, and taught him English by means of the Bible. Toward the end of this time they sat discussing an impending operation in which the guerrillas were going up against tremendous odds.
