Former House Speaker Tip O’Neill tells about walking into the Denver Airport and being approached by a man who said, “Hi, Tip. How are you?” O’Neill replied, “Hi. How are you? Nice to see you.” The man looked at him quizzically, then said, “You don’t know who I am.” “Well,” said the congressman, “my name is Tip O’Neill. I’m six feet, three inches tall, weigh 265 pounds, have a bulbous nose, gray hair and cabbage ears. Once you see me, you never forget me. But you’re different. Why don’t you say, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so, Tip. I’m delighted to see you.'” “That’s very interesting,” said the man, “because I had supper with you last Wednesday night in Washington. And my name is Robert Redford.”
