I remember looking up from the sidelines and noticing that he was gone. I couldn’t figure out what had happened. I was afraid the other team had kidnapped him, or maybe he had gotten sick on his chewing tobacco.
So I asked one of the seniors on the bench, “Where’s the coach?” “High up in the Press Box,” the senior replied. “Getting coffee?” I asked. “No, getting perspective,” said the senior.1
