You Must Remember This!

There is an old legend about St. Martin of Tours and his encounter with a mysterious visitor:

One day as St. Martin sat in his prison cell, a knock suddenly came at the door. Instantly a majestic figure entered his cell.

St. Martin asked, “Who are you?”

“I am the Savior,” was the reply. St. Martin needed proof.

“Then where are the prints of the nails?” he questioned.

With that, the devil disappeared!

“He died, He was buried and He descended into hell,” the ancient Christian Creed says of Jesus Christ. And certain New Testament passages seem to imply, not only that Christ went to the “nether world,” but that He exercised some kind of activity there.
