It has been said, and rightly so …

If the Christ is born in Bethlehem a million times, and trudges the dusty roads of Palestine, preaching for a million years, but is not born in your heart and life — then what difference does the Gospel make; what difference does this Christmas Day make?

Remember way back when a husband was not allowed to go into the labor room with his expectant wife? He was told to have a seat in the “Fathers’ Waiting Room” where there was always a good supply of year-old magazines. And his first look at his new-born baby was through a glass partition.

These days, of course, with a little preparation, he can go into the labor room, and even into the delivery room, and be a part of the miracle of birth taking place. But, in either case, the moment finally came when the baby was placed in the father’s arms for the first time. Ask any father if…
