Bread of Life,

The New Testament writers portray Jesus Christ at work and at leisure in many capacities …

He fishes with the Apostles.

He cleanses people of evil spirits.

He reads Scripture at synagogue services.

He heals and He comforts.

He carries a Cross.

He prepares dinner for the crowds and breakfast for the Apostles.

He attends a wedding reception.

He spends time with little children.

He dines out.

He visits friends.

But whether He is at a work situation or a time of leisure, whether He is in the formal atmosphere of the synagogue or in the informal atmosphere of a roadside encounter with a stranger, invariably He transforms the event into a teaching situation.

Leading educators tell us that the three major requisites for being a good teacher are 1) a good teacher must demonstrate contagious enthusiasm for the subject being taught, 2) a good teacher must regard teaching as a joy — which means first and foremost that the teacher must enjoy being with…
