In a magazine cartoon, a husband and wife are lying in bed about to go to sleep. The husband has a smug look on his face and the wife is facing away from him, saying her night prayers. “Dear God,” she says, “please give Mr. Perfect just one tiny flaw.”
The trouble with some of us, perhaps most of us, is that we are not willing to admit that we are less than perfect.
Mr. Perfect does not exist. Nor does Mrs. Perfect or Ms. Perfect. There is a need to turn some things around in each of our lives. And Jesus emphasized this reality largely to religious people — the church going people of His time.
Position yourself under the rule of God and His great, merciful, forgiving hand will embrace you.
The glorious hand of God is great with mercy, great with blessings, great with forgiveness. And when you grasp it, the gift of New Life is yours, and you don’t need…
