Imagine riding the bus to work each morning, seeing the same “scruffy” looking character hop on board. She takes her seat like the rest, and something tells you she could use a bath. You have to admit, she’s popular and affable, always eager to make new friends, though some of her habits are a little quirky — like sitting a bit too close, or begging for attention. Between warm greetings with some of the other passengers, she glances out the window to make sure she doesn’t miss her stop — and she never does. And just like that, she’s off the bus, headed to the park like every other morning. As the bus pulls away, you sit back and smile, feeling a little bit better for your morning encounter. You’ve seen a thousand riders come and go, but somehow the sight of this lady always stays with you.
